project overview
The Greenfields Industrial Park, a £4million scheme to develop Hinckley and Bosworth's first 'green' enterprise park will utilise the latest in sustainable building technology to create a BREEAM rated 'very good' estate.

The development has been designed in such a way so that it has a low noise impact on nearby residents which has been achieved by carefully selecting the planting and fencing materials on the boundary of the site, and by restricting the usage and operating hours of the units on the site. Furthermore, site security and traffic management measures will reduce the risk of noise nuisance.
A five-year ecological management plan has also been drawn-up to benefit the ecology of the site, and this includes investigating ways to improve the Battling Brook water course situated adjacent to the site.
The industrial units within the scheme make use of the following sustainable technologies listed opposite:
- Timber cladding - providing a lower 'carbon footprint' by utilising re-usable and sustainable materials
- Living 'green' roofs planted with sedum (low-growing succulents) - providing a high level of insulation, reducing energy costs and cutting rainfall run-off by up to 90 per cent
- Wind turbines on some of the buildings – providing a sustainable source of energy
- Permeable paving - reducing rainwater run-off
